Carers Directory of Services

The aim of the new Carers Directory is to provide carers with information about sources of support available to them in Cumbria. These will include sources to support them in both their caring role and their life outside of caring.

We asked carers and carers organisations what kind of information we should include and what the directory should look like. They told us that while the directory needed to have a wide range of sources of support included, it also needed to be small and handy. To achieve this, we decided to include very basic contact details of most organisations – often just a name and telephone number or web address. To complement this, we have included extended information about some of the key organisations who work with carers.

We decided to produce three different ‘local’ directories for three areas of Cumbria which can be downloaded here:

• West Cumbria – Allerdale and Copeland (PDF 1.2MB)
• East Cumbria – Carlisle and Eden (PDF 1.2MB)
• South Cumbria – South Lakeland and Barrow (PDF 1.2MB)
