Adult Social Care consults a wide range of people about social care services and plans for the future. These consultations can include the public, service users and carers, Adult Social Care staff, NHS colleagues, service providers and voluntary organisations.

Working Together is a strategy to enable the engagement of service users and carers in the work of Cumbria County Council's Adult Social Care service. The council contracts Signposts to develop and support a network of forums for older people across Cumbria.
Adult Social Care has a Research and Consultation Governance Group which reviews and approves consultation and research projects before they are carried out.

Consultation on Proposals for Care Services in the Allerdale and Distington Areas Cumbria County Council would like to hear your views about how we should support older people within the Allerdale and Distington area.
Cumbria County Council consulted on changes to the Blue Badge scheme in response to national changes which were implemented on 1 January 2012.
Cumbria County Council is currently developing proposals for day services and day opportunities that will be of benefit to current and future service users both for the immediate and long term future and we need to know what you think.
Cumbria County Council is conducting its first ever review into the range of advice and advocacy services available. The aims are to establish: the benefits of advice and advocacy; whether services are reaching everyone who needs them; and whether we should change the way advice and advocacy services are delivered.
This consultation sought the views of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (transsexual) people about accessing services and what they find makes this a good experience. The consultation closed on 31 March 2011 and a report of the findings will be available from this website soon.
This consultation sought views about the community meals service from people who receive them and also those who might receive them in the future. This included views about the current service and what people would like from a community meals service in the future. The consultation ran from 16 September to 29 October 2010.
On the 11 November, Cumbria County Council's Cabinet considered the feedback from the consultation and agreed the recommendation to permanently close Ravensfield and invest in the development of alternative services including higher level support for people in their own homes.

Fair Access to Care for EquipmentThis consultation sought views on whether to introduce Fair Access to Care eligibility criteria for the provision of equipment to assist older and disabled adults with a physical need or sensory impairment. It ran from 20 November 2009 to 15 February 2010.
Fairer ContributionsThe national fairer contributions regulations implemented in April 2010 changed the way charges for care services were worked out. This consultation sought views on how the changes should be implemented, in particular how to inform people and the use of transitional support. It ran from 3 November 2009 to 3 February 2010.
