Lists of services
Cumbria County Council Adult Social Care maintain a computer based Directory of Services which includes over 1300 organisations providing services and support to people living in Cumbria. We use information from this database to produce lists of services and also to publish our printed Directories of Services.
The main lists of services we get asked for are for residential homes, nursing homes and home care, domestic and cleaning agencies. Separate lists are available for each district of Cumbria and you can download these lists below.
Please note, if you are looking for a registered residential home, registered nursing home or registered personal and home care provider, you can find details including inspection reports on the Care Quality Commission website:

Please note:
- Our lists of residential homes and nursing homes aim to include all those homes registered with the Care Quality Commission.
- Our lists of home care agencies include home care, nursing care, domestic and cleaning agencies and are based on information provided to our Customer Services and Public Information teams. The lists include some agencies registered with the Care Quality Commission but may also include agencies not registered, for example cleaning agencies.
- Home care agencies are included in the list for the district in which they are based - agencies based in one district may provide services in other districts so people looking for agencies may want to check lists in neighbouring district areas.
- While every care is taken to ensure the information in these lists is correct, responsibility for omissions or inaccuracies appearing or any consequences arising therefrom cannot be accepted.
