Compliments, Comments and Complaints Procedure

How can I make my views known?

If you are a service user of Cumbria County Council's Adult Social Care Directorate or Children’s Services Directorate social care services you, or someone you choose to represent you, can make a comment, compliment or complaint about our work with you.  You can do this by:

  • speaking to the person who you receive your service from (or their manager);
  • telephoning the Complaints Manager on 01228 227140;
  • writing a letter to us at Complaints Manager, Adult Social Care Directorate, Cumbria County Council, Civic Centre, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA3 8QG;
  • returning a completed complaints form (enclosed in our 'Compliments, comments and complaints' leaflet);
  • sending us an email to socialcare.complaints@cumbriacc.gov.uk;  or
  • telephoning your nearest Cumbria County Council Adult Social Care and Children's Services office.

If you decide to make a comment, compliment or complaint about the services we provide, you can expect:

  • a prompt and speedy response;
  • to be properly listened to; 
  • to be treated with courtesy and respect; and 
  • confidentiality.

Any comments you make will not affect any current or future service you may receive from Cumbria County Council.
