Telecare - What happens next?

If your assessment shows you are eligible for help from us, we will then discuss with you the different ways in which your needs can be met.  We could discuss many different services with you and this may include Telecare if we think this may help you.  When discussing Telecare, we will discuss the risks in your home and how we might use Telecare sensors to help you manage these risks.

If you decide you would like Telecare, we will arrange this for you by dealing with your local Telecare provider.  They will visit you at home to install the Telecare unit and sensors.  They will also discuss with you who we should contact in case of emergency.

If you have an existing community alarm, the Telecare unit may either replace your existing alarm or be fitted in addition to it.  This will depend on how your existing alarm has been installed.  The Telecare provider will sort this all out for you.  Telecare equipment is installed within 7 working days and in many cases, much sooner than this.
