Review of Advocacy and Advice Services

Skip main menu

Have you ever needed advice, or used an advocacy service? Do you work with vulnerable people and want to know what support is available? Do you feel listened to when you access public services? We would like to hear from you.

In 2011 Cumbria County Council is conducting its first ever review into the range of advice and advocacy services. Our aims are to establish:

  • The benefits of advice and advocacy
  • Whether services are reaching everyone who needs them
  • Whether we should change the way advice and advocacy services are delivered

In the Summer we carried out consultation and you told us about advocacy and advice services. We are now carrying out a second stage of consultation about the future model of advocacy services. We are consulting on three options and would like to hear from you by:

1st November 2011.

We have available an Easy Read Version of the consultation document as well as translations into Bengali, Polish, Chinese, Nepalese and Thai.

If you have any queries about the consultation please contact Joel Rasbash joel.rasbash@cumbria.gov.uk

Report findings and recommendations to Cabinet:

November - Stage 2 report to Cabinet, formal approval of model for implementation
