Use of digital cameras in Cumbria Record Offices: new charges
Please note that from 4 June 2007 there has been a charge for the use of all digital cameras for taking images of archives and printed sources in the searchroom (NB the use of scanners is not permitted). These charges have been introduced to help generate the income we need to protect front line services. The charges are as follows:
1 day licence: £3.00
6 months licence: £20.00
1 year licence: £30.00
Please complete an application form, available from the Searchroom Enquiry Desk. The supply of digital camera licences is conditional on researchers completing a copyright declaration form and refraining from flash photography.

Cumbria Archive Service - The Way Forward
Cumbria Archive Service recently underwent a review by the Audit Commission as part of the Government's Best Value programme. Along with the Library Service it was awarded a 2 star rating. As a result of this review, Cumbria Libraries and Archives have drawn up an Improvement Plan to lead services into the 21st century.
