Driving Business and Regeneration in Cumbria
The work of the Economic Development Unit contrubites to one of the key themes in the Council Plan which is to “Make Cumbria More Prosperous”. It seeks to do this through an integrated approach which joins up regeneration and economic development activities with improvements to the transport and infrastructure network, through safeguarding vital community services and through the protection and enhancement of the environment.
Fundamental to delivering improvements in this and the four other Council themes which the Unit contributes to, is working closely with colleagues both within and across the Directorates and with external Partners. Critical to this is ensuring the priorities of the Unit are closely aligned with the Local Area Agreement and Cumbria’s Economic Regeneration Action Plan.
