Eurodeskthis external link will open in a new window is a Europe-wide network of organisations giving young people access to information on opportunities to work, study, travel and volunteer abroad, as well as European funding.  Eurodesk answers enquiries, gives advice on possible funding and produces information materials specifically for young people.  The Eurodesk network in the UK also provides those working with young people with training in the answering of enquiries on opportunities in Europe.


This flagship website lists a whole range of EU tools to help your dreams become reality.  It covers studying, learning, training, working and taking part in what Europe has to offer.

According to the latest Eurobarometer survey, 53% of young people in Europe are willing or keen to work in another European country Studies show that students who spend part of their studies or training outside their home country boost their employability and are more likely to work abroad later in life.  Employers value the skills they gain such as the ability to speak a foreign language, adaptability and interpersonal competences.

The Commission has also set out how the EU can reach the EU 2020 targetsthis external link will open in a new window through action in three areas both at national and European level:

  • Improving education and training systems at all levels
  • Stronger policy efforts for improving youth employment
  • More EU youth mobility for learning purposes and on the labour markets

For each of these areas, Youth on the Move has a rich agenda ranging from concrete recommendations addressed at Member States, new legislative initiatives and direct support to better information tools for young people and stronger involvement of the business sector.

The European Youth Parliamentthis external link will open in a new window represents a non-partisan and independent educational project which is tailored specifically to the needs of the young European citizen.

The EYP encourages independent thinking and socio-political initiative in young people and facilitates the learning of crucial social and professional skills.  Since its inauguration, many tens of thousands of young people have taken part in regional, national and international sessions, formed friendships and made international contacts across and beyond borders.  The EYP has thus made a vital contribution towards uniting Europe.

Today the EYP is one of the largest European platforms for political debate, intercultural encounters, political educational work and the exchange of ideas among young people in Europe.  The EYP consists of a network of 35 European associations and organisations in which thousands of young people are active in a voluntary capacity.

The EYP involves well over 20,000 young people at more than 100 regional, national and international events through 35 national organisations every year.
