Supporting Learners

Additional Support

If you identify a learner whose needs you cannot reasonably meet within an inclusive learning environment then you need to contact your Centre Manager and discuss the issues with them.  It may be possible to provide additional help for the learner such as putting a learning support assistant in place for example.

Learners can disclose that they require support at any time during their course.  This might be on exam entry or before going on a visit.  You must discuss this with your learners and inform your Centre Manager if action is needed. If you require more training in this issue see your Centre Manager

Access Funds & Childcare

Tutors should be aware that limited Access and Childcare Funds may be available for Further Education courses for learners who qualify for full remission. Further details will be available at the start of the new term

Vulnerable Adults Policy

A policy has been produced which aims to provide all CAES staff with a clear framework to ensure that all policies, procedures and practice relating to safe guarding vulnerable adults are consistent and in line with the Multi-agency procedures and guidelines (Cumbria July 2006).  Download the document here Microsoft Word - 8.54MB
