To start October Half-term or as soon as possible, appointment is due to re-organisation of staffing.

Experience of Year 6 and SAT's is essential. Ability to play a musical instrument would be an advantage. This position also requires subject co-ordination if applicable.

We have a great opportunity for the right person. We need someone who is an excellent teacher, a skilled and experienced Special Needs Co-ordinator and an inspirational leader who is able to lead a committed and hardworking team of support assistants. You will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and support the school through the transition into the new Code of Practice. Although this post is non-class based there will be a teaching commitment.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

An ethos of inclusion which supports our school as an Inclusive School which although mainstream, is also a Strategic Resourced Provision for children with Physical and Medical difficulties.
You will have substantial experience as a SENCO and either have the National SENCO qualification or be willing to study for it
High expectations of all children, but especially children with additional needs, and themselves
Excellent teaching skills
The ability to lead and work as part of a strong team
The desire to play a role in the continued development of our school community
A philosophy which puts the child at the heart of everything we do
The ability to work with a range of external specialists for the benefit of the children in our school
Great communication skills
Proven leadership ability
