What do I need to be a specialist foster carer?
- A spare bedroom
- The support of your family
- Time and commitment
- A caring attitude
- Availability at short notice
- Ability to provide 24 hour care
- Willingness to undertake training
- A sense of humour
What can I expect as a Specialist Foster Carer?
- £255 a week fee for the job
- Between £150 and £180 per week to provide care for the young person
- £117 per week retainer and payment for 4 weeks holiday
- The support of a Family Placement Officer
- Support from our Out of Hours team
- Access to specialist advice to help the Young Person progress
