The Hospital and Home Tuition Service for Cumbria offers a sensitive and appropriate response to the educational needs of young people who are absent from school through medical needs or illness.
The County Manager, Vanessa Andrew, manages hospital and home tuition provision across the three regions of Cumbria: East, South and West. Teachers are based in each area and are supported by tutors. Teaching also takes place in three of the county's hospitals.
Schools, educational and health professionals and other agencies, such as Connexions, can refer pupils to the service.
