Cumbria County Council's Children's Residential Services provide residential care at:
30 Overend Road, Hensingham, Whitehaven;
The Grange, 12-16 Wood Street, Carlisle;
3 Sedbergh Drive, Kendal;
299 Hawthwaite Lane, Barrow;
21 Huntley Avenue, Penrith; and
23 Hart street, Ulverston.
Huntley Avenue and Hart Street are specifically for children and young people with disabilities.
Where possible Cumbria County Council aims to place children and young people close to their community of origin. However, we may also use residential services outside of Cumbria where suitable places are not available within the county.
All residential homes are registered with and regularly inspected by the Commission for Social Care Inspection.
