The strategic direction of Children's Centres sits within the Learning Improvement Service. The Learning Improvement Services provides guidance to centres and supports leaders and managers in developing best practice, using a quality assurance model.
The Learning Improvement Service has a responsibility to ensure that Children's Centres have Advisory Boards that provide support and challenge to the centres. The boards also ensure that key stakeholders working within a District take responsibility for sharing relevant data and contributing to plans which aim to improve outcomes for children aged 0 -12 years.
The Learning Improvement service set targets with Children's Centres through an annual conversation and develops post-Ofsted action plans to ensure that Ofsted recommendations and actions are addressed.
