Working for Adult Education

Skip main menu

Cumbria Adult Education forms part of Cumbria County Council's Children's Services Directorate and any jobs and career opportunities can be found on the CCC Jobs and Careers page.

We will, however, use this page to highlight any current vacancies specific to the Service.

Opportunities for Tutors

Cumbria Adult Education centres and Community Development Centres are now recruiting new tutors for courses starting in September 2012.  If you are interested in teaching a class, please contact your local centre(s) for a chat.  Contact details for all of our centres can be found using the link below.

It is also advisable to check for advertisements in the local press for vacancies in your area.

All CAE tutors who are new to teaching with the service must now have, or be prepared to work towards, a recognised teaching qualification.  The minimum requirement is the completion of a PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) course with an expectation that the Award will be converted into a full teaching qualification within five years.
