Many services are provided free of charge to schools through County Council funding, in order to meet our statutory responsibilities, and to help achieve our priority outcomes for children and young people. In addition, a number of high quality, professional, value-for-money services are available on a traded basis to schools, academies and other educational or childcare settings. These are usually available through service level agreements or ‘pay as you go’ purchases.
Educational support services include Learning Improvement and Inclusion advice, Governor Support, provision of Teaching Assistants, Outdoor Education, Music Service, and a wide range of training courses.
Other ‘back office’ services include ICT Support, Facilities Management and Building Support Services, Health & Safety and Educational Visits Advice, Legal Advice, HR Advice and Payroll.
You can find out more about these by visiting their pages from the left-hand menu.
The Traded Services team co-ordinate a training programme for school based staff and governors: Cumbria’s Training Events for School Based Staff and Governors. This programme brings together the courses which are delivered through the Cumbria Continuing Professional Development, Local Learning Network and Governor Development Programmes. Please follow the link below to open the training brochure.
All our traded services and training courses are now booked via our SLA Online website, where you can also browse all the details, and contact our service teams. To login to SLA Online, click the link at the top right of this page.
Naturally, new services and courses may be added throughout the year, and others changed or postponed, so SLA Online is the most up-to-date place to browse. We will also let you know about these developments through our Traded Services Newsletter, which can be downloaded below:
