Youth Work in Cumbria

Children's Services is a new Directorate that brings together the County Council's responsibilities for education and social services for children, young people and their families.

We aim to provide high quality youth work provision across Cumbria for 13-19 year olds.

The role of the Local Partnerships is to:

• identify local needs with stakeholders
• involve young people in the design of services
• provide a local delivery plan
• monitor and evaluate the Local Plan
• ensure high quality work is delivered
• contribute to the Strategic Plan
• advocate on behalf of young people

The role of the Partnership Board  is to:

• have a strategic overview of youth work provision throughout Cumbria
• identify needs
• provide a 3 year Strategic plan
• monitor and evaluate the Strategic Plan
• agree Local Plans and support Local Youth Work Partnerships
• advocate on behalf of young people
