Local Links End of Year 2 Report![]()
Update on progress April - June 2010 (30.06.2010);
The Local Links project funded building work needed at Ulverston Town Hall so that the building could be utilised as a Local Links centre. The internal building work is underway and progressing well. There are no concerns regarding it being completed on time, in October, and to budget. Partners involved in this project, including South Lakes Housing, the Town Council, Registration service and Anchor Housing are all satisfied with the progress to date.
Local Links is part of the wider customer access strategy of Cumbria County Council. It aims to deliver 28 face to face one stop shops, giving access to both public and voluntary services.
4.2 Cumbria Highways Postbox
Cumbria Highways Postbox End of Year 2 Report![]()
Update on progress Apr - June 2010 (30.06.2010);
The Cumbria Highways Postbox Project aims to deliver access to the Cumbria County Council Highways System from the Excelsior CRM System used by four district councils (Barrow, Copeland, Eden and South Lakeland). The system is currently only accessed by Cumbria CC with no visibility for the districts. The system will be used to administer, register, track and report a wide range of work relating to highways throughout Cumbria. Integration with this system will allow the districts and Cumbria CC to raise, amend and monitor work requests for all aspects of highways work such as road repairs, gritting, street lighting and road closures, in order to provide a ‘seamless service’.
Due to delays in the implementation of a new upgraded version of the Excelsior system the postbox system is now due to be delivered to SLDC in October.
Minor changes have to be made to the postbox system by Cumbria County Council and Capita these are being incorporated in the excelsior system.
Baseline data has also been collected for the number of highways calls that are received in each authority prior to the installation of the postbox system, so we will be able to accurately quantify the reduction in redirected calls after implementation.
