You said… Keep us informed about the advice and services that can help us recover from the floods.
We did… Set up a text messaging service in partnership with Derwent and Solway Housing Association to keep you up to date wherever you are.
Residents and businesses affected by the floods in Cockermouth and Workington can register for text message updates about recovery work and the help and support that is available to them.
The service is being delivered by Cumbria County Council in partnership with the Asia Project which has been set up by Derwent and Solway Housing Association. Updates will be given on work done by the county council and housing association as well as district council, voluntary and charity organisations and many others.
Anyone wishing to sign up for text updates should text their full name, mobile phone number and the address of their flood affected property to 07884 275 222 if they are in the Cockermouth area, or 07818 250 573 in Workington.
The text messaging service is the latest of a number of ways in which staff operating in the area are working to keep residents informed about developments in the recovery process.
Information is available online at www.cumbria.gov.uk/floods or contact the Allerdale Community Unit.
