At 00:06 firefighters were called to a small fire in a house in Rydal Road, Ulverston. On arrival crews found a fire in the bedroom and used one hose reel jet and a hearth kit to bring the fire under control. They were at the scene for around 30 minutes.

At 12:18 on Sunday 18 February firefighters from Carlisle West and Longtown attended reports of a building fire in Hethergill. Upon arrival firefighters found that the fire involved the roof of the building which was well alight. The crews used two hose reel jets, two breathing apparatus and various hand tools to extinguish the fire. The crews were in attendance for approximately one hour 45 minutes.

At 12:18 on Sunday 18 February two fire engines from Carlisle West and Carlisle East attended reports of a building fire on Corby Castle Road, Great Corby. On arrival crews found that the chimney was well alight. The team used chimney rods, chimney gear and a hearth kit to extinguish the fire from the hearth. Crews were in attendance for approximately 55 minutes.

Fire crews removed the casualty from underneath the forklift truck and handed them over to the air ambulance. Crews were in attendance for two hours.

Firefighters were called at 5.15pm yesterday afternoon (12 February) to reports of a heavy goods vehicle having spilt 23 tonnes of PVA glue on to the carriageway of the M6 Northbound at junction 44. Two fire engines from Brampton and Longtown along with the Environmental Protection Unit from Penrith attended the scene. Fire crews assisted the Highways Agency in diluting the product using one hose reel and an environmental kit and were at the scene for more than five hours.

On arrival firefighters waited for the vet to sedate the horse in order for crews to use small tools to cut around the horses leg to enable it to be released.

At 7.22pm last night (30 January) two fire engines from Silloth and Aspathria stations attended Alma Terrace following reports of a fire in the hearth area of a sub basement and ground floor of a four storey house. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel and one thermal image camera as well as small tools and lighting to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for one hour and twenty minutes.
