A feature of the local democratic process now is the ability for electors to cast their vote by post instead of having to attend polling stations. These are available on demand from the six District Councils.
Anyone wishing to vote by post can get an application form from their District Council. The application forms must be returned no later than 5.00 pm on Tuesday 26 April 2005. Voters will then be posted a ballot paper which must be returned to your local electoral registration office by post, to arrive no later than 10.00 pm on Thursday 5 May or, alternatively, voters can return their ballot paper to any polling station in their electoral division on Thursday 5 May 2005 no later than 10.00 pm.
Polling stations will be open from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm to reflect the parliamentary election being held on 5 May 2005.
Further details about postal voting, or for an application form, please contact your local District Council:
