How do I Vote

The Electoral Register is the list of everyone who is entitled to vote.  If you are not included on the register, you will not be able to vote.  The Register is updated every October using the details supplied on registration forms sent to all households.  A revised Register is published by 1st December each year.  The Register is also updated monthly throughout the rest of the year so you can re-register whenever you move house if you wish to do so.

If you are not clear whether you are registered to vote, then you should contact your local Electoral Registration Office as soon as possible.

Eden - 01768 212253

The last date for Registration is Tuesday 19 May 2009.

An increasing feature of the local democratic process has been the ability for electors to cast their vote BY POST instead of having to attend the polling station in person.  Further details about postal voting, or for an application form, please contact your local Electoral Registration Office as indicated above.  The deadline for applications for new postal votes is not later than 5.00 pm on Tuesday 19 May 2009.
