Areas of activity

Policy team

Advise on new and emerging European and UK policies. Manage policies and projects to address worklessness, maximise economic opportunities from the sports sector, support the Cumbria Employment and Skills Board and manage the Rural Development Programme for England. Find out more

Manage the council’s input to business development through support for social enterprises, manage the regional business support programme in Cumbria, the Cumbria Rural Infrastructure support programme and Made in Cumbria. Find out about available grants and support

6. Port of Workington

Port of Workington

Barrow, West Cumbria and Eden and South Lakeland Delivery Teams

Delivery teams

Cumbria County Council is responsible for economic development and regeneration delivery teams for Eden and South Lakeland, West Cumbria and Barrow. Delivery teams have their own programme director and focus on delivering projects outlined in Cumbria's Economic Sub-regional Action Plan and are managed through delivery boards: Eden and South Lakeland Delivery Board, West Cumbria Vision and Barrow Regeneration. Find out more
