The population of Cumbria has changed more  since 2001 than any time in living memory.
  • The % of Black and Minority Ethnic people has increased to over 3%
  • Over one in five people have a disability or long term limiting condition that affects their health.
  • The number of people over 65 years old is increasing faster than the national average.
  • The number of people below 24 years old is shrinking faster than the national average.  

The Cumbria Atlasthis external link will open in a new window consists of a series of interactive geographical tools which enable you to view local data sets and indicators in a user-friendly format combining maps, tables and charts.  The tools also offer you the facility to make comparisons with national data and indicators.  The aim of the Atlas is to enable users to better understand the characteristics and needs of areas across the county.  You can access the Atlas about the Diversity of Cumbria.
