Safety Information for Event Organisers
Where an event organiser wishes to access the relevant agencies or notify them of a forthcoming event, the Event Notification form (EAG 1) should be completed and submitted to the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) at event.notification@cumbria.gov.uk along with any other accompanying documentation such as the management plan, risk assessments, contingency plans or site/route plan of the event, etc. Upon receipt of the completed EAG 1, the SPOC will acknowledge this and forward to the relevant partners, who will identify if any additional help, support, further clarification or an Event Advisory Group meeting is required:

To assist you in ensuring that you have considered all possibilities in relation to the size and type of event(s) proposed, the following EAG 2 form can be used as an aide memoir, with additional fire risk assessments for traders, stalls and food concessions: ![]()

Event Calendar
The CN Group are providing a county wide centralised events calendar which serves three purposes:
a) assist event organisers in determining where and when to hold their event;
b) enable event organisers or the relevant partners to put notification about an event on the calendar; and
c) inform the relevant partners and agencies of forthcoming events within their remit.
This calendar will be available online soon.
Nurture Lakeland
A ‘Best Practice’ Toolkit, to help organisers plan and implement their events with a focus on environmental sustainability, is currently under production through Nurture Lakeland’s Sustainable Outdoor Recreational Challenge Events (SORCE) project. This will be available in early 2012. To find out more visit: http://www.nurturelakeland.org/sorce/![]()
General
Event organisers should note that the ethos of the SPOC and EAG is to assist and work in partnership with the organiser to ensure that their event is safe and sustainable. To ensure that this occurs, all the relevant partners and agencies involved in the EAG work within a county wide framework and constitution to ensure consistency, openness and transparency between the event organiser and the relevant partner/agency.
