My road needs gritting, who do I contact? Our annual winter maintenance programme identifies which ‘priority’ roads in Cumbria are routinely gritted. This means that not all roads are routinely gritted. Also extreme weather conditions may mean that parts of the road network are not treated as normal. Our winter maintenance programme is aimed at ensuring that identified priority routes in and around Cumbria are pre-treated before 08:00 wherever possible.
