This is something we are looking into Terry so keep checking back. At the moment though, if you contact your local district council they will be happy to provide you with any collection details you require.

There will be a section on the Resource Cumbria website covering this topic in the near future. We are currently compiling comprehensive life cycles for Cumbria's recycled materials, but it is not as straightforward as you might think!

There are many different companies and organisations involved in collecting, sorting, marketing and recycling materials from Cumbria. Although it is simple to list those involved in the early stages of the recycling process, it is more complicated to identify the final products made from our recycled materials, which vary due to changes in the market for recyclable materials. For example, a food can might be recycled into another food can one month, but in a different month it might be bought by a company using the metal to make car parts.

Keep an eye on this website for more information in the coming months but rest assured that Cumbria's recycled materials do all get recycled!

Please could you include a section showing what happens to the various forms of recycled materials that start out in recycling bins in Cumbria. Which companies handle it and what they do with it etc.

In order for a site to be picked up by Google searches it must first be indexed by the search engine. This is done automatically by Google's 'bots' and unfortunately the length of time this can take can vary. As Resource Cumbria is brand new it might take a little while before Google indexes the site.

You may want to build a link to Google. I did a search this morning & still hadn't found this website by the time I was 11 pages into the other options offered by Google! Not everyone will remember to add .org to find you
