We are committed to improving health and well-being in Cumbria by being a health promoting community leader, service deliverer and employer. By valuing our employees, and promoting positive attitudes and healthy aspirations through our workforce, through our partnerships, and through our contact with citizens of Cumbria, we will be able to tackle the health inequality priorities for Cumbria and within Cumbria.
By doing so we can potentially reach over 1 in 5 Cumbrians… plus their families.
Our work is driven by the Council Plan; the outcomes in ‘Our Care, Our Health, Our Say’ and ‘Every Child Matters’; and delivering key targets in the Cumbria Local Area Agreement [LAA].

In our Health & Well-being Strategy and accompanying Action Plan we set out practical actions and commitments to do things differently and make the best possible impact on well-being. The Cumbria County Council Health and Well-being Strategy has been developed alongside a Public Health Strategy (Cumbria PCT) so that we can have a strategic approach to a healthy Cumbria.
