Current vacancies

As part of the county council's approach to delivering its savings plans we restrict many of our current vacancies to internal applicants. Applications from employees working in ‘Community’ or ‘Voluntary Controlled’ schools will be considered as internal applicants.

Former employees of the Council who left for reasons of redundancy should note that the Council's procedure stipulates that your application will require consideration by the Assistant Director, People Management in order to decide whether the circumstances would permit your re-employment and therefore whether or not your application can be progressed.

To view and apply for job vacancies please read the guidance below.  Additional guidance is provided on each page of the on-line application form.

·         If you already work for Cumbria County Council you should enter your ‘MyHR’ username and password under the ‘Existing User Login’ link on the left panel of the screen below the Council logo.

·         When the ‘Job Search’ screen appears enter the job reference number (eg *CC123) in the Keyword box or use ‘Search’ to view current open adverts.

·         If you are not a CCC employee and this is your first visit to our ‘Job Search’ and you wish to Apply for a vacancy you need to follow the ‘New User Registration’ link (after selecting 'Apply online') to register your details and create your username and password. 

·         Once registered follow the instructions provided on each screen to submit your on-line Application.

If you don't hear from us within 4 weeks of the closing date you should assume your application was not successful on this occasion.
