Brand New Firefighter Apprentice Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service – 2 year apprenticeship
Firefighters mostly work for local authorities, but can also be found in airports, chemical works, military bases and power stations – basically, wherever there may be a fire or people needing rescue.
As an apprentice, you’ll learn about the various ways to put out a fire using gas, powder, water or foam. More importantly, you’ll know how fires can best be prevented and act as an advisor to others on this important subject.
You’ll also need to have the ability to work in a team environment, be level-headed, a good communicator and be able to take decisive action in emergency situations.
If you are interested in the Firefighter Apprenticeship during National Apprenticeship week 6th-10th February 2012 we are running information and taster sessions.
These are from 2pm to 4pm and 5pm to 7pm on:
Monday 6th February at Carlisle Fire Station
Tuesday 7th February at Kendal Fire Station
Wednesday 8th February at Workington Fire Station
Thursday 9th February at Barrow Fire Station
We will be adding new opportunities regularly - so please keep checking.
