How to apply?

All current Cumbria County Council jobs (except Vacancies in Schools) are advertised through our web-based Job Search facility which can be accessed via the 'Current vacancies' link.

This allows you to filter your search by selecting one or more of the search criteria shown on the page (to select multiple items from the Search filter, hold down the CTRL key as you select your requirements). Alternatively search for all vacancies by selecting the Search button at the bottom of the Job Search page.

Once you have found a job you wish to apply for you will be able to 'Apply Online' using our web application form.   First time users will need to register their details and provide a username and password which will then allow you to revisit the site and update incomplete applications or request a copy of a previously submitted application through the 'My applications' link.

You must complete all the mandatory fields before your application form can be submitted.

Please ensure that you follow the instructions to complete the submission of your application.  Use the 'Next', 'Previous' or 'Summary' buttons at the bottom of each page to move through the application form.  Do not use the 'Back' button on your web browser.

If you don't hear from us within 4 weeks of the closing date you should assume your application was not successful.

We also provide below a PDF application form - to be used if you wish to print the form, for County Council jobs and then complete by hand. Please return the completed form to:
