Staff at the PRU are encouraged to further develop their skills through identified professional development.

There will be times when unsupervised working will be necessary.

Reporting to the Head of Service for Building Schools for the Future, this vacancy is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the re-organisation of schools within the scope of Cumbria County Council's strategic vision specifically overseeing the Academies Programme, Primary Capital Programme and Building Schools for the Future. The successful post holder will manage a budget of over £300 million and will co-ordinate and manage staff engaged in all aspects of the school re-organisation processes.

The successful candidate will provide support to the Head of Service (BSF) in the governance of the school organisation programmes and be expected to work alongside colleagues within Children's Services delivering Early Years/Foundation, Youth Provision and 14-19 developments to ensure a 'joined-up' and strategic approach is delivered.

One of our roles is to ensure high standards of animal health and welfare in the keeping, transportation and handling of livestock.

We have a vacancy in Carlisle for an officer to assist in this role. The post will include checking movement records, bio-security and the condition of farm livestock, and will involve visiting farms, livestock markets and abattoirs.

Good communication, interpersonal and report writing skills are essential, as is the possession of a driving licence and own transport, and the ability to work outside normal working hours.

The successful applicant will have 5 GCSEs at A-C (or equivalent) and will ideally have some experience of working in anagriculture, farming or similar environment. The post is initially for 30 months with a requirement to gain recognised qualifications within this period.
