Festival of Learning activities in Cumbria

Cumbrians are being invited to try their hand at something new this month as the county council celebrates the Festival of Learning with a series of free taster sessions.

Cumbria County Council's Community Learning and Skills team are organising a wide range of taster sessions and 'have a go' events throughout Cumbria from 11 to 22 June.

There are nearly 100 sessions to choose from countywide and they are mostly aimed at adults looking to get back into learning.

Taster sessions are on offer at venues across the county, including some at Costa Coffee shops. If you have a thirst for learning, you can find out more about everything from creative writing, drawing for beginners or feltmaking, to languages, IT skills and mindfulness - and all sessions are free. There will also be an opportunity to find out about developing your maths and English skills.

The Festival of Learning is the biggest celebration of lifelong learning in England and you can discover exciting opportunities to learn something new or rekindle your passion for an old skill.

The festival aims to highlight the benefits of learning, celebrate the achievements of adults who have used learning to transform their lives, and to encourage everyone to embrace lifelong learning.
