Vintage Penrith Week is a week long celebration of "the traditional strengths and current vitality" (Joe Harris President of Vintage Penrith) of Penrith town. There will be lots of different kinds of events including displays, walks, talks, concerts, films, children's activities, a picnic in the park and a grand parade. As part of this week of celebration Penrith Library are hosting 5 interesting talks on local topics (see below).On the Tuesday and Wednesday Paul Daw, one of the speakers, will also lead 3 site visits to local stone circle sites. ‘Finding your Ancestors’ a talk and advice session on family history with Susan Dench, Chair of the Cumbria Family History Society

‘Stone Circles in Eden’, a talk by Paul Daw on local stone circles and Paul’s unique method of finding them.
Paul will also lead three site visits:

Friday August 6th 2.00 pm
‘A Laal Bit of Dialect’, Cumbrian crack with Tommy Coulthard
