  • Family Fun Creative Comics Taster Session

    Sat 29th Sept 10-12 Drop-In. Join us for a cutting, sticking, drawing, creative session Weíll be sharing ideas, using templates and creating comic strips. Children, young and old are invited. They can draw and colour, make masks and headdresses, dress up and be photographed in our life-sized picture frames and colour-in templates donated by some of the famous comic artists coming to the Lakes International Comic Arts Festival

    Join us for an afternoon with author Matt Hilton, who will be talking about his books including the latest Joe Hunter thriller, Marked for Death, as well as his brand new series featuring Detective Inspector Kerry Darke, in which crime and supernatural fiction collide. Matt Hilton worked for 22 years in private security and the police force in Cumbria. A 4th Dan blackbelt and coach in Ju-Jitsu, he is the author of eleven novels in the Joe Hunter series, and five Grey & Villere thrillers. Come and join in the fun of a good story or two with your children or grandchildren - they're never too young to join the Library, so you can borrow lots more books, story sacks, toy sacks, talking books or DVDs to enjoy with them at home. Early readers will enjoy all the books designed to help them read for themselves, and older brothers and sisters can choose from a wide range of popular authors and favourites.
