Whitehaven Temporary Opening Hours
It is with regret that the Cumbria Record Office and Local Studies Library in Whitehaven will be reducing its opening hours with effect from 1 August 2005. 

Long term staff illness has made it impossible to sustain the previous level of service to which our customers have become accustomed. Over the last few months we have investigated every possibility to temporarily maintain staffing levels but have exhausted all the options and therefore we have no alternative but to reduce the opening hours in order to try to ensure that standards of service are sustained.   The hours of opening will be altered on a temporary basis, as outlined below, until further notice.

From the 1 August the office will be:

Closed for lunch every lunch time 12:30-1:30pm 
Reducing Saturday service to one in two Saturday mornings      
We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and thank our customers for their forbearance. We aim to restore normal opening hours as soon as possible once our staffing problems are resolved.

Opening times from 1 August 2005

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday   9:30am - 12:30pm     1:30pm - 5:00pm

Wednesday               9:30am - 12:30pm        1:30pm - 7:00pm

Saturday                     9:00am - 1:00pm      Every other week as advised

15 September, 29 September, 13 October, 27 October, 10 November, 24 November, 8 December, 22 December
