Whitehaven Mobile Library

Helping the Library Service become Accessible to all, Cumbria has a fleet of seven Mobile Libraries offering a wide range of services to all areas of the County. The Mobile Library service is accessible to people of all ages including those who are unable to visit the library owing to illness, disability, frailty, immobility and to those providing full time care to others. There is the opportunity to browse through a good selection of stock and help and advice is always available. Membership is free. If there is a route near you joining is simply a matter of completing an application form and providing a form of identification showing your name and address.

Q. How often does it Visit?
A. 2/3 week rota

Q. What if I miss the Van?
A. There are no overdue fines charged

Q. What about Breakdown?
A. Radio Cumbria gives out early morning information and we try to ring members.

Q. Can I request a stop near me?
A. There will need to be several people who will require the service frequently in an area not near a static library
