Background

Following consultation with the community North Allerdale Partnership was established in 2006 to undertake a feasibility study of the North Allerdale Area. Following this, Allerdale Borough Council and Cumbria County Council committed to supporting North Allerdale Partnership, who went on to successfully secure £700,000k of lottery funding. This money is currently being used to develop Wigton’s existing market hall into a single community and council facility.
