Grants Budget

The forum has a Grants budget for 2010/2011 of £9,349.36 which is jointly funded by Cumbria County Council and Copeland Borough Council and a Youth Grants Budget of £1198.54

Grants Awarded at the Forum in January 2011 were:

£1,000.00 to Whitehaven in Bloom as part of a multi application towards the cost towards the Trinity Gardens Planting Day for 11 local schools who each design and plant a flower bed

£600.00 to Cumbria Rungwe Community Link as part of a multi application towards the cost of training and teambuilding, including 2 residential and a multi cultural programme for Copeland young people to host a group of Tanzanians in 2011

£900.00 to Bransty Rangers Football Club towards the cost of training/match/first aid equipment

£500.00 to Hensingham ARLFC Players Fund as part of a multi application towards the cost of Rugby and First Aid equipment

£1,200.00 to Parkinson's UK West Cumbria Branch towards the cost of five Nintendo Wii's

£400.00 to Whitehaven Egremont & District Credit Union as part of a multi application towards the cost to market new financial products and existing services including drop-in sessions at local community centres

£375.00 to Whitehaven Harbour Youth Project  to take 15 young people to a Premier League Football match to include 2 hour training before match starts

Grants Awarded at the Forum in November 2010 were:

£700.00 to Whitehaven Judo Club towards the cost to purchase club hoodies for junior members to wear when representing the club at events

£1,000.00 to Lowca A R L F C Youth Section as part of a multi application towards the cost to purchase strips and safety equipment for 3 new Youth teams

New Music North Limited this application was deferred to the next forum

Grants Awarded at the Forum in September 2010 were:

£600.00 to Rosehill Theatre as part of a multi application towards the cost of running workshops for local young people following and relating to the APPLES National Theatre Tour Project

£600.00 to Copeland Amateur Theatrical Society as part of a multi application towards the cost for a professional sound technician and equipment for the "Spend, spend, Spend" musical performance in February 2011

£600.00 to Whitehaven Bowling Club as part of a multi application towards the cost for improvements to the clubs' facilities

Grants Awarded at the Forum in May 2010 were:

£500.00 to Egremont Rugby Union Club  as part of a multi application towards the cost to build disabled toilets and disabled access and egress to and from the club

£400.00 to West Cumbria Bipolar Organisation  towards the cost for guest speakers and books for the group

£500.00 to Whitehaven Boxing Club  as part of a multi application towards the cost for new equipment to meet health and safety standards

£450.00 to Whitehaven & District Community First Responders Association  towards the cost to purchase protective clothing to distinguish members and to look more professional

£350.00 to Young Cumbria  as part of a multi application towards the cost of local young people travelling to Gambia, as part of the West Lakes Peer Education Project
