Community Activity
Youth Works is a new community youth project based in Egremont and run by Joe Bell an ex policeman. The aim of the project is to involve young people in the community and provide drop in facilities. The project is the only one to be funded outside of inner cities. Anyone interested can contact Joe Bell on 01946 813677.

Copeland Rail Users Group (CRUG), which was formed in 2003, wish to see improvements to the quality of the rail service, its' infrastructure and the way it is perceived. The members of CRUG have an interest in the rail service from Carlisle to Barrow and more specifically from Whitehaven to Millom; membership consists of regular users, occasional users and would-be users, all of who have an interest in the Coastal Railway. Wheels 2 Work is a scooter loan scheme aimed a helping young people in Copeland overcome transport barriers, and access employment, training or education opportunities.

Forum Meetings
The Forum meets a minimum of four times per year with meetings being held twice a year in Egremont, once a year at St Bees, the fourth meeting at Moor Row and the next year Bigrigg.

Egremont and St Bees forum area takes in Egremont, St Bees, Bigrigg and Moor Row.
Egremont is a small market town with a population of approximately 7,970 there is a large proportion of terraced and semi-detached property Egremont has limited employment opportunities, the current unemployment figures are around 6.6%. Bridge End Industrial Estate has mainly small workshops and service industries. The main employer for the area remains British Nuclear Fuels.
St Bees is a small seaside resort with a population of 1,649 this has grown by 11.6% since 1991.
Tourism is a major economic factor in St Bees the beach is very popular with locals and visitors. St Bees also has a very successful public school. Unemployment figure is low currently at around 2.1%.
Tourism is also growing in Egremont with Florence Iron Ore Mine, a working mine a heritage centre visited by local schools and tourists. Lowes Court Gallery on Main Street Egremont is an outlet for local arts and crafts and also stages exhibition by local artists and schools.
