Under the Parish Paths Initiative (PPI) scheme, parishes and community groups can register an interest in Public Rights of Way (PRoW) with the Countryside Access Team at Cumbria County Council and also apply for a small grant to help improve local paths.

To learn more about the scheme and PRoW management in Cumbria in general interested parishes and community groups are invited for a free PRoW workshop on Saturday 20 March at Skirsgill, near Penrith.

Every effort is being made to continue county council business as usual in the aftermath of the floods which have hit parts of the county - particularly in Allerdale.   We would urge all people to check before attending neighbourhood forums on whether they are going ahead.
