Allerdale Local Committee secures extra Street Lighting Schemes

Today, Cumbria County Council's Local Committee for Allerdale were informed that a further 8 street lighting schemes in Flimby, Workington and Keswick were to be done as a result of the extra cash approved at the Committee's meeting in December. 

County Councillor Barbara Cannon, Chair of Local Committee, says, 

"It is important that we spend local committee money wisely on the clearest priorities. Good Street lighting contributes to road safety, and helps people to feel safe when they are out at night. There are, however, a further £200,000 worth of street lighting schemes that remain on our immediate priority list. Those can only be brought forward if we have cash in next and future years."
