More grants to Copeland groups supporting social care projects

Today Cumbria County Council's Local Committee for Copeland agreed to grant over £8,000 to community groups looking to deliver projects in keeping with the social care objectives of the Local Committee. 

County Councillor Ronnie Calvin Chair of the Local Committee says, 

"This Local Committee is working in partnership with Allerdale Local Committee to support community groups in West Cumbria who provide projects to both individuals and the wider community on related health, disability and social care issues. We want these groups to be able to access the funding easily and we try to support as many groups as we can. Grants totalling over £20k has now been approved by both Committees which I am sure will benefit West Cumbria greatly." 

The list of organisations supported through these grant decisions are as follows: 

• Resolve Mediation Service - £2000.00 
• West Cumbria Domestic Support - £2000.00 
• Annie Mawsons Sunbeams Trust - £1000.00 
• West House - £ 500.00 
• The Samaritans of West Cumbria - £ 490.75 
• West Cumbria Society for the Blind - £1500.00 
• Victim Support - Witness Support - £ 500.00 
• Westlakes Research Institute - £1000.00
