Hundreds of books will be waiting to be snapped up at Barrow Library next week in one of the library's regular book sales. The books are titles withdrawn from the shelves by Cumbria County Council's library service and are mostly adult fiction, with some non-fiction and children's books as well.
Jean Holmes, principal library assistant at Barrow, said:
"These sales are always popular. People love to come and browse and it's a great chance for them to lay in their holiday reading. With prices as low as 10p, it doesn't matter if you leave the books behind in your holiday hotel for someone else to enjoy when you've finished with them."
The sale is being held in the upstairs meeting room at the library at Ramsden Square, Barrow. A lift is available. It runs from Wednesday, January 15 through to Saturday January 18. Opening times for the sale are: Wednesday 10am-5pm; Thursday 10am-1pm; Friday 10am-5pm; Saturday 10am-3.30pm
