More toys & equipment for kids in Copeland

Today, Cumbria County Council's Local Committee for Copeland agreed to allocate £454 to Kirkland and District Playgroup to purchase new toys and storage equipment. 

Children aged 0 - 4 and their families have access to the Playgroup which is run by a voluntary management committee. This project aims to improve the facilities that are currently on offer particularly for the younger children as well as making the storage more adequate for their needs. 

County Councillor Ronnie Calvin, Chair of the Local Committee says 

"This Playgroup is a very important setting for both the children and their families avoiding the isolation that can result from living in a rural area such as this. I am delighted that Members have agreed to support it. The Group offers a socially valuable service to children and parents in the area and I hope this money will improve the quality of the environment in which the group operates."
