Services support to Cumbria during Firemans' Dispute

The Royal Dragoon Guards are fully prepared to provide emergency fire cover during the projected FBU strikes. The Regiment, supported by other Services personnel trained in the use of breathing apparatus and other specialist rescue equipment, have been undertaking continuity training and remain fully focussed. 

Arrangements will not differ from the last strike and the general public are to be reassured that they will see no change in the level of fire cover over the Cumbria area. All Temporary Service Fire Stations (TSFS) will be operational from 0900hrs 21st January 2003, in the event that the dispute has not been resolved.
