Resurfacing work due to start on Warwick Road

Essential resurfacing work is due to start on Saturday, 26th July, on the A69 Warwick Road at the junction with Tesco and Rosehill Industrial Estate

The work starts at the 30mph signs approaching Carlisle from the Rosehill interchange and continues for about 250 metres towards Eastern Way, incorporating the roads into Tesco and the Industrial Estate.

The resurfacing, which is being carried out in three phases, should be completed within three weeks. Phase one, which will last for about four days, will involve temporarily closing the junction into Rosehill Industrial Estate. Temporary traffic lights will be used and traffic will be diverted via Eastern Way and Durranhill Road.

The remaining two phases will be carried out using temporary traffic lights, which will be continually monitored and manually controlled when necessary.

Jim Smith, Area Engineer for Carlisle, says,

"This is a busy road and there will inevitably be some delays. We have, however, taken steps to minimise disruption as much as we can. There will be weekend and evening working, enable the job to be completed as soon as possible and temporary traffic signals will be constantly manned and monitored to ensure traffic does not build up to an unacceptable level. This is essential work and I hope that the public will bear with us. The end result will be a much improved road surface for all road users."
