Summer fun for kids in North Allerdale

North Allerdale Sure Start is hosting 2 events to keep children and parents entertained over the summer. The events will take place from 10am - 11am on 31st July at the Village Hall in Gilcrux and 1st September at Lindow Hall, Bowness on Solway. Each event will enable children and families take part in a number of games, art and craft activities and singing.

The Mini Sure Starts Programme targets extra money into pre-school and childcare services provision in rural and disadvantaged areas and are managed by Cumbria Early Years Development & Childcare Partnership.

County Councillor Joan Stocker, Cabinet Spokesperson for Education says

"North Allerdale Sure Start has put together these 2 events to keep children and families entertained over the summer. One of Cumbria County Council's main priorities is to extend early years education and childcare services and this includes during holidays as well as term time. The Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership works in partnership with local parents to improve how services are delivered locally and this summer programme will enable children to learn and have fun with their parents at the same time during the holidays."

Elaine Thomas, North Allerdale Mini Sure Start Programme Manager says to all parents & families with babies and young children

"If you have not already joined the Mobile Toy Library or attended one of our Stay & Play sessions in local halls come along and see what toys and fun activities we have to offer. Toddlers have a great time and you can meet other parents, our play development workers and community health staff. Everyone with children under 4 years is welcome - so don't miss out on all the free fun and games offered by North Allerdale Sure Start this summer.
