County Council statement regarding Bill Minto

Cumbria County Council have today issued the following statement following today's news of the death of Bill Minto. The statement is in the name of the Deputy Leader of the Council, Mike Ash as the Leader is currently abroad. 

"Everyone connected with the County Council will be saddened to hear of today's sad news. Bill Minto was an outstanding politician as well as being a well respected and well loved Cumbrian. He was an excellent representative for local people and a strong supporter of Cumbria and the County Council. 

His achievements were many and his hard work and determination have been widely acknowledged. But most of all he was a loving husband and a man of the people, a man who will be missed tremendously. Our heart goes out to his wife, Joan, his family and close friends."
